
Bio
Elden Rodell is an Independent American singer-songwriter, producer and composer. His musical style has been described as a grunge-like soul-pop. His primary instruments are voice and piano. His first studio release was Jamestown E.P (2017) and due to some problematic circumstances, took a significant break from the industry. He continued writing and recording a backlog of material during this time and his first release, upon returning to the music scene, was Hold the Door (Demo) (2024).
Music Background and Works
While attending high school, Rodell participated in multiple choirs and an annual charity fundraiser (GOFA) that featured a talent show. He also released a collaborative senior album featuring other performers he went to school with.
At McNally (2014-2017), Rodell studied production and recording techniques with the facility's impressive studio complexes as well as advanced musical theory, music business strategies and economics, mixing techniques and sound design. His preferred DAW is Logic Pro and his preferred headphones are the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X.
Throughout his time in McNally he also collaborated on a number of student works with longtime friend and fellow Producer Marcus Davies (Owner of Blck Heart Studios).Contributing also to McNally’s Art Inspires Music Project, which was a collaborative exhibit pairing visual artists with musicians. He contributed to the 2016 and 2017 editions of the Exhibit. In 2016 his artist collaborator was the exhibits Co-Curator Elizabeth Black (Title of piece - “Waiting”) and in 2017 his artist collaborator was Laura Dill (now Cory Dill) - (Title of Piece - “No.42”).
In the fall of 2017, Rodell finished writing and recording his Debut E.P “Jamestown” with help from fellow producer(s) Marcus Davies and Tyler Alberg. The E.P Featured the title track “Jamestown” as well as “Like Blood” and “Deadfire”. The E.P was released on October 27th 2017 and was distributed by C.D Baby and registered with ASCAP which is Rodell’s preferred performing rights organization. Shortly after the release of “Jamestown E.P” the college abruptly closed.
In January of 2021 after the passing of his mother, Rodell briefly attended Berklee College of Music (online) prior to dropping out to relocate to South Dakota to escape an abusive relationship. During this time, he continued to work on a backlog of material to release at a future date.
After the years long break from the music industry, Rodell’s returned to releasing music with his single “Hold the Door (Demo)” Since Returning, he has also released the collaborative single "Go On' with long-time friend and fellow producer Marcus Davies. Rodell's upcoming release is untitled at this time but is set to release in April of 2025.
